Need Advice – Heating Issues, Sludge Diagnosis, and Boiler Warranty Concerns

So quick update, the heating exchange was totally chock of stuff, debris etc, the engineer has replaced it howeve he did say that he couldnt recommend any type of flush but he did say that whatever is in the system needs to get out. His way of saying yes without saying yes.

He did say that IF I chose to get a powerflush done, try not to do it through the heat exchange ( i dont know what that means) cause they wouldnt come out and replace another heat exchange if its full of crap, this was a kind of one off, we are being nice gesture to get you up and running.

Really amazing engineer, first class service and absolute gent of a man from Worcester Bosch, i truly cannot recommend him enough!

Now starts the relentless offers of powerflushes, mybuilder job post coming up!!

Quick question — what exactly constitutes a professional powerflush? I’ll have a look through the thread and see if similar topics have come up, but I’m wondering if there’s a clear difference between a “cowboy” job and a proper, professional flush — and what signs to look out for. I’ve had quotes ranging from £500 all-in (e.g. from UK Powerflush) to several thousand pounds, and as a layperson, they all seem to describe the same service. I've watched a few youtube vids too so just trying to understand what justifies the big price gap.

Much depends upon how serious the blockages are, and some blockages might be so compacted, that the only fix is replacement of at least some sections of pipework.

Who have you gone for?

If you have gone for a firm that specialises in Powerflushing, then i suggest you look at their recruitment page on their website.

if they recruit from outside the industry then steer clear.

Anyone who does a powerflush needs to understand plumbing and heating systems.

I don't know this company but id be careful.

My advice is fi d a good heating engineer who advertises powerflushing.

What part of the country are you?
