Need advice for a suitable motion detector replacement

I don't know. It nearly always works fine for me.
It may depend on whether you have third party links enabled in your browser, or something similar.
Also the Screwfix (etc) site may not like it if it can't tell you're human, for example if you're using a VPN.
If I use a different browser I get different results.
You could try highlighting the link., right click, and "Search using... (google, etc)"

Interesting.

As far as I can see 3rd party links are about using a browser (in my case Firefox) to be used by a 3rd-party app (e.g. a PDF reader) to open links.

I'm not using a VPN, and when I first encountered the problem I tried 2 browsers on my laptop (Firefox & Edge), 3 on an Android tablet (FF, Samsung and Chrome) and 2 on a different Android version on a phone (FF & Redmi's MiBrowser) -same thing on all of them. And I never get problems going to the SF site directly.

Oh well, if whatever it is is not universal, I'll just have to live with it.

Thanks for looking into it.

Am I the only one getting this with Screwfix links?
Links to Screwfix have been broken for weeks, or perhaps even months.

They don't work because although they are displayed correctly, the actual code for them looks like this:

sf_link_fail.png

which has the link href as
Code:
https://www.diynot.com/sf/
which is a page on the DIYnot site, and that redirects to an error page at
Code:
https://www.diynot.com/sf/temporary-unavailable/
which displays 'temporarily unavailable' on it.

OK - so given #17 and #18, why are the mods trying to gaslight me?

Does that empty post signify you are not on speaking terms with someone?
Like that bloke working away from home who had an argument with his missis but still continued to send her a letter everyday but in this case they consisted of blank pieces of paper.

No, it signifies that for some reason I returned to this topic, and saw my #19 unfinished and unposted, so I finished & posted it. Except #19 was there and I now had a #20 duplicate.
