I want to create a log cabin in the back garden to use as an office

My *biggest* concern is the cold temperature in winter

Can someone give me a few pointers where to start?

Should I buy ready made cabins from one of the established companies?

Or should I just buy raw materials?

Is it possible to JUST buy the plans for a cabin?

Insulation - I assume the ticket the better - but how can I ensure that I'm not going to be freezing in the winter + not needing to have an electric heater taking loads of money in fuel bills?

Any advice would be great

Thanks

that a great link. thanks

any advice about insulating and keeping warm in the winter?

this is my only concern

let me know

thanks

Depending on the size you could install a log burning stove.
If well insulated running cost for heating should not be too high.

inside a wooden log cabin?
isn't that really dangerous!?

with kids around, i don't think i'd want to get a fire anyway, even if it safe

i think my plan would be to insulate as best as is feasibly possible and then use electric heating

No more dangerous than an unsupervised electric fire - at least a woodburner will go out if left alone.

and remember no sleeping accommodation but the odd sleep over with sleeping bags may be over looked :D

definitely only want for an office
but won't be able to stop kids coming in and ransacking!
sleep overs only needed when in trouble with the wife :)
