Need help in replacing 3 gang 1-way switch to 3 gang 2-way

You seem to have interpreted my suggestion to put the Brown in a separate connector as meaning the terminals of the switch are connectors.

This is one example of a connector - there are many more these days -

which I meant you to use to ensure the loose wire is made safe while disconnected from the switch.

If you have indeed used the vacant switch terminal, that could cause all sorts of confusing outcomes.
