I understand what you are saying, but the apex of the roof is 6'1" and I'm 6'... Roof lights aren't an option. These lights will be sat out under the eaves and will be reflecting out into the room.

It was updated in the 80's and a loft room was made (not a legal bedroom...

Not legal as any habitable room.

Building regulations exist to ensure rooms are safe and usable. Yours falls far short of both.
