Hi all,

I need to bring the small area of dry lined wall between utility room wall mounted cupboards and worktop (only talking 1800mm wide by 500mm high) forward about 25-30mm prior to tiling with white metro tiles. I appreciate I could use 30mm Jackoboard or similar but, given it’s above a washing machine, dryer and dishwasher, I would rather use something with good fire rating.

Could I layer up two layers of cement board? Or what would you recommend?

Thanks

Makes sense, didn’t even think of plasterboard

Could these be attached to the existing wall with adhesive of some kind (similar to shower panels) or must it be screwed? Just as there’s quite a few cables and pipes behind this particular wall. Not going to be a great deal of weight in tiles going on.
