Neff ceramic hob problem

I have an intermittent problem with my Neff ceramic hob. Two of the four rings will turn themselves off for no apparent reason. Then they cannot be reset/turned on again, because the control seams to think they are still on.
I'm not sure whether it is a problem with the control module or the thermostats in the rings themselves. The Neff engineer couldn't find the problem and suggested I try a new control module for £340!!!
Obviously any alternative (and cheaper!) ideas are welcome.

sounds like pcb fault without knowing model number cant find price of pcb

engineer is right cheapest price can find is £332.99 for pcb
i'd rather buy new one than replace part but your choice
