I have just had an offer accepted on an end terrance house in Glasgow. The inside has been well looked after but the outside neglected. It has extensive wet rot in the gables in the roof, under the back door and in the sub floor area under the front bay window - which we have had a timber survey and will get that work done. It does however need a load of other work doing ( the cause of wet rot).
rough cast on chimneys and side of house needs repairing
Guttering and down pipes need replacing
repointing
We are going to try and convert the attic also. I have never owned a house that has needed such work done so am not sure as to the approx cost of above work. Also would people suggest getting a building firm to carry out all the the work or should I approach each specialty individually.
Anyone know a good builder in glasgow - south side?
I would really appreciate any advice anyone could give me.I'm new to Glasgow and "home improvements" and don't want to get ripped off
