Could a neighbouring property's chimney flue go in the stack on my side of the house? The reason I ask is I've opened it up in our upstairs bedroom to mount a t.v etc into alcoves but the centre of three flues seems to angle quite far back into the neighbours side?

Would love any advice? many thanks

It's quite possible; in some houses, the flues run up the centre line of the party wall, the reason being to reduce the projection of the chimney breast in each room. The flues to adjoining houses will therefore be side-by-side rather than back-to-back.

But it does make it impossible to remove a downstairs chimney breast without impacting on the neighbour
