Nest 3rd thermostat install

I figured out that the thermostat was set to 'combi' instead of 'system', so I've changed it and that's done the trick!
That would do it! :)

I'm absolutely chuffed to bits. There's absolutely no way I'd have figured this out on my own, so I'm very grateful for your assistance
It was an interesting one!
Again well done, your wiring up appears neat and it does the job.
...and you can probably understand now, why we weren't keen on you putting all those wires from the original programmer, into the Heatlink terminals!

Enjoy the Nest.

I have no tank thermostat, so my Nest gen 3 does DHW by time alone. C-Plan_basic_Nest.jpg This shows the simple version. It worked well, except it will not connect to TRV heads, but the automation relies on no variables. We however have variables, they are called doors. If a door is left open when it works out sequence, then you close the door, seems obvious when writing down, but the auto generated sequence will not work.

The same with the geofencing, it did work of sorts, and would turn off heating when we both left the house, but to work on return, one would need huge radiators and boiler, there is no way to set the distance, all you can control is Eco and Comfort setting. Also, although the built-in PIR is good, so walking past the thermostat sets it to comfort setting, this can also catch one out, my local EE mast went down in high winds, and we got cold, each time we looked at the thermostat it showed running at comfort setting, but it would then turn down to Eco setting as it thought the mobiles were not at home. Took me a day, I looked it up on PC, which is when I realised what was going on.

As a result, all the bells and whistles, which come with Nest Gen 3, have now been turned off.
