Just about to fit a new mixer/shower tap onto a bath, the tap is suitable for 3/4 inch pipes but the installation is from a combi boiler and has 1/2 inch pipes. There must be some sort of adaptor at the connection? Do I need to buy some additional parts before stripping this down?

Also about 10 inches along each pipe is a join with a connector which is about 1 1/2 inches diameter attached by compression joints, I can't see what it does - any ideas? It isn't a normal isolator. See picture.

Any help before Friday would be appreciated.

15mm x 3/4"" tap connector

the fittings on the pipe look like non return valves

Thanks Kev.

So I assume that as I'm just replacing the mixer tap with a new one that has exactly the same size fittings I can re-use the existing pipe fittings, the connector will re-seal ok?
