can anyone help. just bought new shower bath and wondering about how to fix legs. instructions vague. have three metal spars with screw in feet and holes for screws. the bath is plastic/fibreglass but no wood on bottom. do screws just go into base of bath or is there other way of fixing. screws are 16mm long.

As a general rule the feet sit on, and screw to the floor. The uprights then fit to the inside rim of the bath - do not screw anything into the bottom of the bath or, come to that, any other acrylic part - there should be a framework around the inside to take the supports.

Double check the instructions and if they are not clear then ask the shop where you bought the bath to clarify them for you

The wood you are looking for is now often encased in GRP = glass reinforced plastic or as we know it Fibreglass so you can usually screw into the base, but the problem is I cant see what you have in front of you so as already stated check instructions and make sure that you dont use a screw thats going to pop out of the other side and trash your new tub

If you don't like the look of the legs, bin them and use a couple of lengths of 4 x 2, especially if anyone heavy will be showering in it. You'd need battens on the wall too. Some legs are OK, but some are just plain silly.

remember to check the height you fix the bath at is appropriate for the pannel if u don't use the legs. If its a cheap bath I'm surprised there's not a large piece of chip-board on the bottom.

thanks for the advice.there does seem to be a thicker bottom on the bath. will contact makers to be sure
