In the process of having a replacement bay window installed.

Returned home today to find a large part of the ceiling in the bay had collapsed and that a fair bit of render has fallen off outside.

Only 1 window of 7 fitted and that one is about 1.5cm proud of the render - 5cm away from the internal brick that the old frame butted up against.

Should I be worried or is this all fairly normal?

Neighbours recently had 4 large bays replaced - no problems at all...

I fear that the guys that are doing mine might be a bit rusty - despite a claimed 20 years in the trade.

Pic above highlights the gap - showing that the first window in the bay is proud of the render - There is another 5 or so cm back to the brick...

Is this acceptable?
