Hello,

I need urgent help from someone.

Installed a vaillant ecotec 418 boiler about two months ago.

heating works fine but boiler does not heat the water. I had a new valve installed but still nothing changed.

I have 7 years Vaillant warrenty but vaillant thinks the issue is not with the Boiler as their engineer installed the boiler.

the truth is i replaced the boiler because of this issue, but still it has not gone away. can anyone help with this???????

please see picture above, the white valve is the new valve.

can anyone suggest what should I try??

thanks

Does the cylinder stat trigger the new valve to open? Presumably the cylinder is cold at the moment so should be permanently calling for heat and therefore driving the new valve open and causing the pump to run.

so does that mean a new stat is required or some control needs to be changed?

Hi again,

could this be the problem "blockage in the hot water circuit. Switched heating off but kept water on. Increased the pump power to MAX and that blew through the obstruction and it's all working fine now".

got the above from someone's problem thread.

That depends on the answer to my question. Does the valve open when the programmer is set to 'hot water on' and does the pump run? If the answer is 'yes' then that part of the control system is working ok and the boiler should fire.
