I would go for the Vaillant Ecotec Plus 831 or 837.
This subject has been covered many times before so a search on here should bring up loads of info.
As for price, it depends on where you are, what is being taken out, new position of combi, new gas supply from meter to boiler etc, etc, so it is very hard without more info to even give a very rough guide.
It isn't. Just had fourth 937 with water hammer. Vaillant still say it isn't a problem and we have dead legs.
Someone ought to give them a dead leg.
We have to go out at our cost and fit a shock arrestor - their solution is to fit a pressure reducing valve. How we laughed, of course this made no difference but bought them some time.
So here we are, 100s of boilers installed in the last 12 months and four have had water hammer issues. All Vaillant 937s. Some coincidence.
I just wish they were a little more proactive in the UK. Most senior positions in Vaillant are now occupied by ex Glowworm personnel. What a shame!
Well, I have a Vaillant Ecotec and it's fabulous. Really quiet - not like the Ideal I have in another property. That sounds like someone's trying to slurp icecream through a straw. Worcester Bosch have a good reputation, too.
Baxi Platinum or Duo-tec, 5 yr guarantee with platinum, and Duo-tec voted best buy by Which?.Depends on rad sizes and how much hot water you need for correct size but go upto 40 kw.
