New Build - Lead Flashing

Hi,


I am looking for some advice. I have just moved into a new build and have concerns about the quality of the roofing, specifically the lead flashing. After raising these issues with site foreman he tells me that the this is how it should be and there is nothing wrong with it. It dosent look right to me and in fact looks like a poor job. Is anyone able to offer any advice regarding the quality of this work (pictures attached)?

Definitely a roofers leadwork and not a leadworker!

For those that don't know.....MASSIVE difference!

Refer the site foreman to BS EN 12588: 2006, and BS6915 - Code of Practice for lead work. Also the guidance from the Lead Sheet Association www.leadsheet.co.uk

Also refer him to Specsavers

You could imply that the guidance from NHBC Standards have not been met, but I suppose that he forman will just say that it is waterproof, so is OK

TBH, that is one roof where you probably would not mind a visit from the pi keys when you are out

Its shocking workmanship and totally wrong.

The waterline on the stepflashing should be at least 65 mm, it shaould have soakers installed. and the internal corner is the worst I have ever seen.

Thats siteworkers for you. They get paid for how much they do usually.

P.S, find out which company has done the work and if they are a member of a trade body such as the NFRC then report them. Maybe mention this to the foreman, he may change his tune.
