Hi,

I am trying to fit a class 2 ceiling light and when I have removed my old ceiling light (in a 1970s house), I found this set of wires coming from the house.

I have never seen 4 before so not sure how to fit my 2 wires into it. The previous light had 3 wires, which is shown before. Interestingly, none of the wires from the light were connected to the red wires coming from the ceiling.

Can anyone advise what to do with this?

Thanks.

You said you were fitting a class 2 light and yet there is a CPC(earth wire) in the picture therefore it cannot be class 2.

Thank you.

The picture posted of the ceiling light was the old one, not the new one. So, I will simply connect the earth wire coming from the house to a separate terminal and it will not be connected to the light. Is that correct?

From the diagram, the earth wire is the green wire, which will be ignored.
