New central heating system - help!

Hello

Can ask for advice?

We have a 24kw Worcester boiler on the ground floor supplying the heating and a gas water heater supply all the hot water (bath/shower, kitchen and bathroom sink). It is a 3 storey town house with bathroom and kitchen on the 1st floor but the kitchen will be moving downstairs.

We lose pressure in the shower whenever anyone turns a tap or uses the toilet. We'd like to stop this.

We are doing some work on the house and may be later putting a shower in the loft.

We have mains pressure of 2 bar and a flow of 22 litre per min at our mains connection. The tap from the bathroom runs at 10-15 litres per minute.

Outlet to the mains could be upgraded (we also currently share the one outlet with our neighbour in the basement flat) - Thames Water charge the earth though and pressure won't improve...!

We understand that the pressure is not really enough for Megaflo type system.

We have considered a old fashioned tank system installing cold water tanks in the loft and building an airing cupboard. We have also considered more powerful combination boiler - 32kw. If we stick with a combi we realise that we will never get away from the pressure loss. With the old fashioned system we run the 'hot water running out' gauntlet.

We don't know if either system has any benefit regarding putting a bathroom in the loft (the cold tank would be at floor level in the loft). I think we would probably need a pump with either system (combi or storage)?

Are there any other options? Could we have a combi and a tank - so we can have on-demand hot so we don't run out of hot but also storage so we don't rely on the main pressure and flow?? Could we have them somehow linked up?

But you dont have both together.

Its the dynamic flow rate that is important.

A Grunfoss home boster type of system will probably be the best solution. Best located in the basement !!!
