I am having a new central heating system and have been quoted several different makes of boiler. Worcester, Halstead, Ideal. Any comments of your experiences good/bad to help my decision making would be appreciated.

Thanks

DONT TOUCH HALSTEAD

cheap nasty in my opinion and a bit of a git to get the parts

(stands back ready for the stampede of people disagreeing)

Most professional installers would not be so keen on a Halstead although the Eden does look quite good but its too soon to get any feedback.

Much more important is to get the boiler properly fitted and the existing rads powerflushed.

Ask every person to quote for EACH of the boilers mentioned, I would also suggest you also ask them to include a Biasi and a Vaillant and a Worcester.

The installers who can only install one make would worry me as it implies they have little real understanding of how boilers work.

Ideal Isar/Icos are what I am fitting at present, only 4 wires in, 1 to 1 ratio gas valve, one man lift, (as long as your not a weed) , small and neat, 3rd generation so hopefully bugs ironed out, no flue analizer required to commision.

No wonder your getting away with so cheap quotes.
