Hi, getting new condenser tumble dryer to replace old vented one. Can I simply leave old vent hose in situ and block it off with insulation/foam and duct tape ? Unable to access all of vent hose to disconnect from wall due to built in cupboards. Thank you.

We've stopped using our condensing tumble dryer because of running costs in favour of a dehumidifier.
I'd never buy another either because I think it's unhealthy blowing humidity in the house along with fibers. Jmo.
Re hole.
Get match bricks
Use duck tape to cover new brick face and existing wall brick faces.
Fit bricks. When set or dry remove duck tape from brick faces.
Can just brick any old how inside and make good with filler.
Easy job.

Or bodge up as you say

Thanks for the reply. Think I'll go down the bodge route just because of the simplicity. Was just going to maybe block outside vent cover too, think it will break (over 30yrs old) if I try to remove it therefore exposing bricks, hole etc. Seems to be limited choice these days for vented dryers.

It's just the the condensation caused by blowing the air inside you would think is a problem these days with mould with some tumble dryers..
With duck tape protecting bricks you can throw the sand and cement at it. I did... Ha

If ever the mood takes you.
This took about two hours. I used a few stones to pack brick joints but don't tell anyone.

Thanks for the reply. Outside vent cover is on roughcast so still thinking about just leaving it as is and sealing other end of vent hose.

Some condensing dryers can be vented as well.itook at the back of yours to see if there is a blanked off duct. Refer to instalation instructions for definitive answer.
