New custom bath panel and problem floor vinyl gap

I decided to have a go at replacing a cracked bath panel on a wall to wall bath with a home made panel. I created the panel from tongue and groove moisture resistant MDF using vertical pieces with 6mm plywood backing. This sandwich tucks into the hook of the bath at the top. I created a 120mm tall plinth out of 12mm plywood. The sandwich panel sits in front of this.

I have overcome several problems along the way such as bath legs that stick out (requiring pockets to be chiselled out of the backing plywood) but have finally got the panel built, the edges scribed to fit around the skirting board at each end and I thought the end was in sight.

However putting all the pieces in place, I discovered to get the panel plumb the plinth needed to be positioned such that the vinyl on the floor is ending about 10mm before the plinth.

I bought some uPVC 17mm quadrant but this doesn’t look great and ruins the stepped look of the plinth and panel combo.

I really do not want to tackle putting new vinyl down even though a small bathroom. My skills are very limited and this project has cost enough already.

Has anyone had similar issues and can suggest any solutions. All I can think of is to try a flat uPVC strip but not sure how that would look. I don’t want it to look like a bodge job.

You need a length of skirting the same colour as the panel or flooring.

Considered a 10mm internal scotia moulding and paint it to match the floor or panel.

Thanks for the reply. Perhaps the slimmer size of this could work better than the 17mm uPVC quadrant I did try. The 17mm quadrant looked really odd and bulky and took away from the idea of the clean step from the panel back to the plinth
