Hey folks,

I've gone to fit the glazing to my garden room doors and I found there's a lump of whatever substance is between the glass about 3mm proud of the glass and a gouge missing further down.

Daft question, but can a home please tell me is this a problem or am I worrying about nothing? I wondered if it might not fit as tightly as it should with the lump.

Where did you get the glazed units?

I'd be returning that one for a replacement/repair whatever effect it has it looks awful.

Did the unit arrive looking like that, or have you inadvertently peeled the tape off yourself?

I started peeling the tape off but the lump was present before I started.
I have a feeling that now you have taken the tape off, you may have voided the warranty.
They could claim that the damage could have been caused by the removal of the tape.
...if anyone doesn't realise, the tape stays on!

Oh balls. Is there a remedy other than pucker up for a new pane of glass and laugh about it one day?

Can I cut the lump out and fill the gouge with something?

The instructions were a bit vague and I assumed the tape was just for transit handling purposes.

Cheers
Larry

Warranty shouldn't be voided by removing the tape...that would be a very poor excuse by the Sealed unit manufacturer!.

How deep is the ' gouge ' if only a 1mm then honestly i'd fit it and be done with it but if at all worried contact and send the photos to the supplier and see what they say.
