I want to replace the filter on my oil tank. Should I just buy a new head and bowl, or is it worth trying to replace the filter element alone - i.e. is the filter cartridge a standard size?

You can't quite see from the photo but the head is marked E 3/8"

It seems like you can get complete new assemblies for £10 and the filter elements aren't much less. What am I missing?

Thanks

Turn off the oil supply from tank, the valve should be before the filter, unscrew top nut on filter assembly the bottom half comes away and replace with new paper filter, turn on oil supply ( and hope you do not have an airlock )

Cheers. Are the filters all the same or do I need a specific size/type?

Turn off oil at the tank. UNSCREW THE FILTER BOWL. The nut at the top is for bleeding only.
