Hi,

I'm replacing the external half cill on a number of sash and case windows and would like to know how feasible it is to join them to what's left of the existing (internal) cills given I've removed rotten wood from them as well.

The amount of wood removed varies but I would have a gap of around an inch in places between the old and new halves. I would hope an epoxy filler such as Timbabuild would give a good repair but that might be costly given the amount I would need and I wonder if there would be an alternative option either in choice of material or in using expanding foam to part fill the gap before applying an epoxy filler?

I also need to repair the bottom of the casement uprights at each end of the cills.
