does anyone have any pictures or any other suggestions at all on how i can overcome to cover the lock?

thanks in advance

Forgive my asking, but why do you want to do that? The Georgian ones aren't original (which would have been either pretty brass or bronzy fan-vaulted 'Art Deco' style or nasty brown bakelite), but they match the style of the door batter than the modern ally B&Q offerings. And those doors are infinitely better quality timber than any affordable modern stuff. If the handles are tatty, my advice would be to source something similar, maybe without the beaded edges.

Yes, see what you mean - it's just personal taste (yours and other half's). If you Google "stainless steel lever door handles" you'll find lots of suppliers. But if possible see and feel before you buy; some handles look nice but have rough edges or insufficient clearance for a manly hand!
