I'm going to be replacing the Handrail/Spindles/Baseplate in my house, currently it's got the 70's horizontal rail style setup which looks turd.
I'm intending on just painting it all white, on that basis what would you suggest I use material wise. Pine seems the obvious choice or would I be better off paying for a hardwood?
