New newels/spindles/rails

I need to fit a single run of handrails and spindles, horizontally on a landing. It’d be a full newel at one end, bolted to the floor joists, and a half newel at the other end fixed to the wall.

I’ve done a bit of this in the past but can’t really remember. Am I best fixing both newels and the base rail first, then dropping the spindles in and fitting the handrail in such a way as the handrail can be dropped onto some dowels in the newels? Or can the spindles be worked in at an angle after the rails are in? Any advise on the best handrail-newel fixing would be great. I think I’ve done a combo of screwing and dowelling them in the past. Cheers.

Ps - it’s going to be laminate floor. So I guess I’m best getting this bit done first then beading the baserail after the flooring is in. Assuming the base rail can’t oversail the laminate …
