Need a new one of these.
EBay has used ones.
And can see listings for repairs.
HW relay is stuck open.
Constant demand.

Think it's 3rd gen.
Any links for new or has anyone had a repaired one?

Cheers,
D

Stupid question, given your experience - is it definitely the Heatlink at fault? Does disconnecting terminal 6 kill the demand?

Tapping the Heatlink in the vicinity of the relay may free a sticky one.

Alternatively, swapping the relay is relatively straightforward if you have any experience at PCB soldering - Big Clive has a couple of videos showing the internals...

I believe the replacement relay would be an RTB7D012

Anecdotally, In the past, Nest have been quite good at replacing faulty Heatsinks; even out of warranty. It seems now that we are in Limbo, waiting for the 4th gen to be introduced over here.

Cheers @RandomGrinch,
Yes.
Pin 6 stays 240V regardless of demand from stat.
Relay click is heard but 240V remains.
Whereas pin 3 alternates when CH demand is cycled.
Didn't try percussive maintenance lol.
Should know that trick as use it for pumps.
Will try for nest replacement.
Else have mate who does board level repairs for a living :)
