I can tell you have no idea how the NHBC work.
You have no idea of the reality...

Linky Linky

"NHBC forcing buyers to sign agreement preventing them from contacting media about problems with their property or discussing with neighbours"

"The gagging orders raise further questions about NHBC, which provides warranties for most new-build properties. Critics of the organisation claim it is failing to protect consumers amid a wave of complaints about the quality of new-build properties."

"The NHBC is funded by developers, and campaigners are calling for an impartial government-funded regulator to replace it. “The big three developers who are responsible for the majority of new homes pay the NHBC millions, so the NHBC doesn’t want to rock the boat”

I visited the site on a free lunch basis with a neighbour who is selling up to move closer to family.

He's lucky I went along, although a free lunch can always twist my arm.

I knew that new builds were bad, but not this bad.

He's in a position where he could easily have paid for a house on that developement without a mortgage and I have no doubt that the salesdroid would've steered him towards their 'friendly' conveyencer.

Never had the pleasure of being subject to a gagging order
Sammy seems to have imposed a 'gagging order' on himself...

Hardly surprising, since not for the first time his knee jerk reply turns out to be a crock of s hit!

Gagging orders and poor standards are a different issue to the one you suggested about regulators being paid off.

Because they bung money to those that then make sure that the 'regulators' have no real power!
