We all know about the software to read fault codes etc, (well I do now) but is there any way of programming keys without going to the main dealer? I object to paying nearly £100 for 5 minutes work.

I have a 2001 Astra SRI, is there any software I can get so I can program the keys myself?

I think you'd be lucky 'cos I think the codes are matched with the registration of the vehicle, which is obviously held on the manufacturers database, which I reckon they might be loathed to give to access to :( Short and curlies, oh yes indeedy.)

Bugger, I might have to become a mobile key cutter for cars, they must make a fortune!

Bit useless if you can't deactivate the immobiliser. I sympathise, I had to get a new Renault Clio key supposedly all the way from France, yeah right!, £140.00 and I only got one key, 'kin ell, thieving swine :(
