I am going to install a new oven (2.2 Kw) a microwave/grill (Unknown because I do not have it yet) and an Induction hob (Unknown because I do not have it yet). I am guessing the other units will be more Kw than oven.

I am planning to run in all cables etc but get an electrician to make final connection and test etc.

I have read as much info I can and am still confused.

I assume I would install a B32 MCB in the CU. My CU has only two spare ports; 1 on the RCD and 1 on the non-RCD. Should I install on the RCD?

Run 10 mm T+E cable.

This is where the confusion really starts as I have read and seen many different ways!!

Can I run the 10 mm to a junction box, then run 3 cables to 3 separate FCU with a 13Amp fuse? Or am I talking total C**p and looking at it too simplistically!!

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

I have checked Part P and BS7671 and I assume that I can do the work but need a qualified person to sign off the work, this would also mean that I do not have to inform the building control at the local council?

you need to run a 2.5mm t+e ring for the sockets, fcus for appliances etc.

you could ethier plug your oven into the ring, or run a 2.5mm t+e radial for your oven.

the hob will need a 32amp min radial in 6mm, or poss 10mm for upgradeability.

sounds right to me..

and im sure this all has to be notified

You either notify building control BEFORE you start the work
or
you get a member of a competent persons scheme to do all of the work for you, including notification.

There is no other option. You cannot do the work yourself and then get someone else to notify afterwards.

he can....hes just technically not alllowed.

Thanks so far for info. reference the Part P. My understanding is this:

Inform the building control of my intentions.
Carry out the manual labour, chasing walls, pulling in cables etc
Get qualified electrician to complete the work and sign it off.

Am I correct in assuming I am allowed to do some of the work in this 'elf & safety' mad country.

I know that electricity kills etc and I know that unqualified people such as myself should always use experts to do stuff, but the same lunatics who can't wire a plug can drive a car!!
