Hi,

Im doing a kitchen refit and I'm seeking a bit of advice on order of events for the flooring.

Also not sure if I should take up the existing floor tiles and put SLC down to give me a decent base.

I've got click vinyl in mind because of its ease of install and also im not committed to it for ever.

Key questions for anyone able to help!

1. Should I get the existing tiles up here to original concrete base? They are glued down (See pic I've attached for type) would it be a waste of effort/money/time to do this and put a SLC down?

2. What would you do about the damage in the pic where I've had a bit of damage appear round the end of a utility cabinet? I bought a load of tiles when we moved in (Grey ones) and stupidly started originally to try and lift these tiles thinking it would be an easy job but it wasn't so left it as it until we re did the kitchen.
3. Should I install after I've installed my cabinets?
4. How do I edge the flooring under the cabinets? Will it be susceptible to lifting over the years if not edged off?
5. I'm going to have to skirt off a few sections so could I skirt above the flooring with the recommended gaps manufactures say they need for expansion and not have to put bead/filler down to conceal edging?

If they're well fixed then I'd go over the top. Any decent laminate underlay will cope with small imperfections in sub floor
