I am having my kitchen redesigned which involes knocking the kitchen and dining room into one. The side door to the kitchen is to be bricked up and a window in its place. There is a front door and backdoo to the house and entr and exit to the kitchen will be via the existing dining room door. the font door is about 10 mtrs from the kitchen I am breaking any regulations by not have a door in the kitchen which leads to the outside directly?

Can I have a reply today please as work starts next week ! Thanks

You don't need an external door, but the window will need to conform to means of escape requirements, and it must be accessible to use for escape - eg no cupbard in front of it
