I currently have a food waste disposal unit that i would like to get rid of. I also have a washing machine to connect to the 1 1/2 sink.

I think one of these to do the job:

or:

Cant see much difference between the two.

My problem is i dont know how to connect the trap to the 1/2 bowl, as it currently has the disposal unit on it. This is what i have currently:

What else do i need to get to connect the trap on?

Thanks

Thanks for that. Unless I'm misunderstanding, the waste strainer in the 1/2 sink is much bigger than the main bowl. You can also see that in the picture above, it looks like the strainer you listed above would just go straight through the hole!

Probably better to replace the other one as well, as most of the pipework there is totally unnecessary.

Yes, going to start again with everything, the stuff that its in there isn't just totally unnecessary, its also rubbish quality. Having said that though, is it strictly necessary to replace the strainer thats there (on the right hand side), surely the new trap would just screw to it?

Thanks

1/2 bowl is a 90mm strainer, which is what was linked to above.
Unusually for a kitchen sink, the larger bowl has a smaller one. Could be kept or replaced.

Silly question maybe: Do i put a bit of plumbers mate between the two metal parts? That is, the circular ring where it goes into the sink bowl, not underneath - theres a washer that goes underneath, but nothing on top.

Thanks
