Afternoon all

Hopefully a very simple question but I can't seem to find the answer anywhere on forums or Google

I have started laying an Indian sandstone patio over the last few days. Full mortar bed. It has had a good few days to dry out in the recent warm weather

However I haven't pointed it yet as still a few slabs to go down and probably won't get round to it until next week

My question is, do I need to cover it to protect from rain until pointing has been completed? Bit of a faff covering/uncovering but I'll be gutted if it affects what I've done so far

I'm thinking mortar should be dry, therefore no impact but wondered if I'm missing a trick? Any advice much appreciated

The extra moisture will help the cement to harden, just cover it so it gets a chance to dry out a bit before you start laying again. Only need to keep the rain off until the mortar has gone off properly.
