Hi, I have got a new outside PIR light and it has three terminals, live, neutral and switched live, wiring from garage is from sockets so has live, neutral and earth, what connects to what?

I am not an electrician.

You run a cable from the socket in to a light switch. That creates the switched live. The cable before the light switch is a permanent live, you can split it to become both live and switched live.

Ideally you will run from a socket up to a switched fused spur, before running up to the new light switch. That will help you to isolate it.

You will need to use 3 core and earth. Even though your PIR might not have a terminal for the earth, the earth needs to be connected to the wall socket just in case, for example, someone accidentally cuts through the cable.
