Hi,

I need to paint my bathroom ceiling but just wanted to check the correct way. It has been plastered and in the other rooms I have just done a watered down coat of emulsion and then a couple of normal coats. In the bathroom I want to use special bathroom paint, am I ok to use the watered down emulsion first and then a normal coat of the bathroom

Thanks in advance.

Yep, spot on, as long as it's the (I presume) matt paint like the other rooms for the mist coat.

Thanks for the reply.

Yes it will be Matt paint for the mist. I was thinking is it actually worth paying out and getting the special bathroom paint instead of just using Matt?.

Thanks again.

In my opinion and not at all an expert, I'd say no, not really. I use matt in the whole house, but the bathroom I used silk because of splashes on the ceiling when having a shower. Just wanted something less porous and a year on, it's been fine and looks as good as new.
