Was wondering if anybody out there has worked for or works for Heat-team and was wondering what they are like to work for as a company. Its just that I might be joining the company and it would be good to get some info from the engineers doing the job.

Is it really that bad! I recently went for an interview, and I it seems likely I will be offered a position shortly. I was wondering what they are really like to work for, is bonus reasonably attainable etc.

Winter period can be hard going 5/6 days a week 10 hours work/driving. Summer is great 7.5hr day with lots of time off 35 + days hols/restdays. £30K+ easily achieved. Bonus is easy if your good at your job, £300+ per month.

They have just took on 30-35 extra engineers all of a sudden everybody wants to work for a company again...Recession coming

I'm just worried that to many engineers means less work to go around. That might mean not being able to achieve set targets. Very similar to my current employers.With new builds coming to a halt,and less boilers being fitted its bound to have a knock on effect.

Barney, dont be too hasty!

Its a reasonable salary and reasonable working conditions!

Many of us work independents work 6/7 days at busy times of year and 10/12 hours is not unknown.

I thought Paul would have said something like that too.

Baxi/Potty is a large firm and its a nice job mostly fixing newish boilers. At least you dont get the real rubbish and the landlords who dont want to pay! They lend you a nice smart van and you are a respected visitor most of the time.

Think about it! Their boilers have a reputation for breaking down so you will probably have a job for life if you want it! Mostly simple fixes too, sensors and diverters on the older boilers. Not many mind twisters!

And by registering with your own CORGI number you can probably do a few extra repairs in you own time if you have a big mortgage.

Dont be put off by some on here who dont recommend their own firms to work for! Asy why they are working there ?

I totally agree the people doing boiler fixing for companies don't know they are born.

Fixing ALphas was acomplete doddle. The only reason i don't do it nowis that it was not enough alone my area is quiet. I had to head Londonwards to bring sufficient worms home to feed the little Barkers.

There was a Worcester position up this coast but I noticed the vacancy too late but the agency thought I wasn't experienced enough. i did tell them that if they can get me in front of a person who knows about fixing boilers I can convince him that I can fix boilers. It's geting your bum into that interview room that's the obstacle.

I wound my business up this year after 7 years, things went very quite. so joined a very well known boiler manufacturer. the basic is ok but the bonus would have made up for that. Except they are not giving me enough work to achieve bonus.I've kept my own corgi going and I'm having to do private a the weekends to make ends meet.
I just dont want to be jumping from the frying pan to the fire. But the heat-team job seems to be better in some respects than my current one.

From what I see its not bad at all. They all look very smart and professional.

However, there is not so much overtime available so if you need to earn more that would have to be with your own jobs.

I rather get the impression that most of them go home to relax rather than rushing around doing other jobs.

Each area requires a set quota of engineers to cover workloads through out the year, Once area has full quota they wont take any more on (Belive me that will cost them money)

My area is always banged out most work is D&G work, That will keep you going for years...Reguarding targets im on 5.25 jobs per day, i always have a min of 7 so it is easy to achive.
