with respect conny... what does it matter if someone answers their own post.... ?

The 1 hour 18mins is obviously because I was doing something else.
My post appeared 1 minute after yours but may well have only been posted 2 seconds after you due to the clock ticking past the 58 and onto 59.
The ruling over answering your own post is so you can't 'build up' a stream of answers if no one else is participating at the time.
This was covered vey early on in the thread.

Basically when we were kids learning the game we were told it was 1 answer per go and to the best of my knowledge thats the way everyone plays it, even on other forums.
I don't take credit for inventing the game, its as old as the hills.But you could sit up all night writing out sentences to each of your answers then come on in the early hours and post a whole stream of them.

but surely a bit of leeway on an internet 'game'... rules aren't real rules... if someone posts twice... what's it matter?
if anything. i'd say stop people using the word of their sentence as the first word of their next sentence..... quite often done...!

It's to give everyone a chance, as Conny pointed out it would be possible for one person to sit up all night, doing nothing but submitting a string of answers, I'm pretty sure most of us would soon get fed up, and not bother to contribute anymore.
Being pipped at the post, happens, it's frustrating, but all part of the game.

With respect wotan, that doesn't really make sense... unless there's a prize for the most number of posts. I mean if you look back just on this page.. there's a post from you at 2:09am this morning, and the next post at 8:09pm tonight... if you were to sit up for three hours and post 100 new responses... the next person is still presented with one word to work on...??

As i said, i will abide by the rules though, if that's what's been agreed.
