Hello,

So I bought a McAlpine 90mm shower waste trap ST90CP10-70 which comes with a bend already on it, the problem is my 40mm pipe went straight into the older waste trap without a bend.

The new unit thread is too small to fit the 40mm pipe straight into it and tigthen it up.

We've been to Screwfix, toolstation, b&q and Wickes and no one sells this obvious part we require.

I believe what I need is the Mcalpine T29, which will screw into the McAlpine waste trap, and the other end I'll be able to push the 40mm pipe in and tigthen it up, job done...hopefully!

Does this sound right?

Or does anyone know of a shower waste trap which has the correct 40mm pipe fitting already on it? that way I don't need to buy any adaptors.

Thanks!

Well funny you linked that. I finally found the manufacturer of my old one which was an Opella which is the same as above and toolstation have it for £9

The only downside to them is it’s bottom only clean but in preperation for the McAlpine I cut a hole in the kitchen ceiling and fitted an access panel, so if I go with the old one again it’ll fit and i’ll be able to clean it easily.

Here’s my old trap, I think I’ve found our why it was stupidly slow to drain.

Unfortunately my music taste requires me to have long hair (2ft+) so will invest in a better hair trap haha
