hope you guys can help.

nedd to put another socket in my room but found its not a brick wall but old lathe and plaster. how can i fix the back box? I'm ok with the wiring but this stumps me.

Depending on the thickness of the lat & plaster, you should be able to use a plastic plasterboard box.

Alternatively you could fix the socket box to one of the timber uprights in the wall, you might need to notch the timber slightly.
