New to painting

I just had all the walls in my new house plastered, there are alot of walls.
Im young and never painted much before and as it is my first house i want a very good finish. Could anyone leave any tips for me on painting walls with emulsion paints. Any information would be grateful???

What paint should i use first?

Do i need to water it down?

How many coats should i use?
