New washing machine - OK to re-use old hose?

I have just bought a new Zanussi washer/dryer to replace a broken one of the same brand. I'm installing it tonight, and was planning to re-use my existing 2.5m water supply hose (10 years old but looks in good condition), as the one provided with the new machine is not long enough. However, I noticed that the installation instructions caution against this and say a new hose should always be used.

Any idea why they say that? And do I need to be concerned about it or is it OK to go ahead and re-use the old hose?

They probably just say that in case you have a really old hose i.e. 30 years plus. I would just carry on with the old hose.
