Newlec NLRT1 room stat fault

Hi
I have a Newlec NLRT1, When i turn the stat down it will click off, but then automatically click back on. I have had a new 3 port valve and a new Program timer installed by British gas when i had boiler fitted, They said my thermostat was ok when it was installed a year ago so i kept it.

can someone please help me by possibly suggesting what may be causing the stat to turn off but then come back on straight away?

If you can hear it clicking back on when the temperature is set very low I can only think it must be broken and it's not the sort of thing that can be repaired.

At least it isn't an expensive or difficult item to replace.
