I have been called out a few times to a flat where the storage heaters keep tripping and I have to keep opening them up and resetting the thermal overload switch....why does this keep happening??? any ideas? Thanks
With the weight of it the metal flap seems to drop down after about a year, restricting the output.
check the metal outlet flap inside, is still slightly open when on minimum output.
I have found
If the charge is set on full and the output set at low , the heat inside builds up too much at the top, and they tend to get too hot and cut out.
Either adjust flap so open more , allowing more heat out when on minimum, or advise not to leave on minimum output setting.
thanks for all the replies....I dont think they drape things on top although i cant be certain..what I did notice is that both heaters had both input and output set to maximum on no. 6!
