i timed how long its takes to get the pressure back up to 1bar using the filling loop, and then disconnected the filling loop and opened the tap up for the same time just under filling a 6 litre water bottle.

Can't agree with the method used, The tap is not open fully when re-pressuring so there's no way of knowing the tap is opened the same amount for the bottle.
Not only that, but the bottle offers no resistance when filling it, whereas the boiler has a pressure being built up and the increasing resistance affects the flow. So it's not a like for like comparison
