No cold water from bath mixer tap

I’m hoping someone can help me. The cold water has suddenly gone to less than a trickle from our bath mixer tap, with no warning it was stopping! The tap itself works fine and fully opens, as does the hot water tap and flow from that? I did trying leaving the cold tap open and running the hot tap, with my hand over the faucet (air block) but this has not done anything. Many thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Is the cold water feed from a tank in the loft or direct from the main?

Is the hot water fed from a conventional boiler and hot water tank, or otherwise?

Hi, yes CW from loft tank and HW from hot water tank, cheers

If your loft tank has plenty of water in it ,the valve on your cold tap is kaput !

Thanks all, after taking the tap apart the washer/clip had flattened and broke! Thankfully all sorted now
