I have no downstairs lights. Kitchen light blew last night. This morning I checked fuse box and changed the 5 amp fuse for the downstairs but they are still not working. This was as much as i knew how to do! Any suggestions? Or do I need to get someone in?[/b]

Have you ensured the wire is not fractured?
I have been called out to this kind of fault before, only to find the wire was changed, but in tightening up the screws, the wire snapped at one end.
Use a multimeter set to continuity to check all your fuses are intact.

Also make sure you have actually changed the wire in the downstairs fuse as it is not unusual for the fuses to be labelled wrongly by someone. You may have changed the upstairs by mistake .
