Hello, has anyone on here mixed and used no fines cement?.

I was planning to try 6:1 with 10mm gravel and normal cement, mixed in a builders bucket, just wondering what consistency I should be aiming for?.

Say 18kg gravel 3kg cement how much water?, or just aim for a cake mix consistency?.

Any help appeciated!.

Hello Ken, I was thinking of casting a path behind my sheds.

I've got plenty of gravel already.

Seems like a good idea since it's porous.

Keithmac, good evening again.

OK it is in effect Non-Structural, using something like No-Fines concrete in a path should be ok but? you will have difficulty in getting a smooth flat top finish, important when it comes to shedding rain water, infestation by Moss and litchen Etc. No-Fines will give some resistance to frost damage.

Must admit I would be inclined to include sand even if it is just to get a reasonably workable top surface?

As for paths, i like to see edge boarding so you can get a clean sharp edge and a slight cross fall for drainage.

Ken.

Thanks again Ken, never thought of moss!.

Might mix a small amount up and see what the finished article looks like first.
