NO HEATING BUT WATER GETS HOT

HI, I HAVE A WORCESTER BOSCH 280 RSF COMBI BOILER.
am getting hot water ok but central heating is not working. When i switch heating on the boiler fires up for about 30 seconds then stops, but the pump stays on and every now and then the boiler will fire up again but for 30 secs and then stop. Radiaters and not getting hot at all.

Lack of temp control, or more likely lack of circulation.
When it does start, does the flow pipe from the boiler get hot? (Leftmost fat one, iirc)

Anyone know if these have a filter on the return, by the way??

thanks for responding so quick chris. but no the pipe doesent get hot. i have thermastatic valves on my radiators. i have followed the fault finding proceedgers in my user manual and it points to the water diverter valve. but i would like a second opinion on it.

Its not like a medical examination where doctors give an "opinion". Boilers are more consistent than bodies, well usually!

We cannot diagnose the exact fault unless we have full diagnostic information from a temperature survey of the boiler.

Its clearly a lack of circulation, thats a blockage, a lack of diversion or a lack of pump operation. Which one would be the problem in your case would need a competent boiler engineer to attend or a complete set of diagnostic test results.

Thanks tony, thats all i wanted to know. theirs so many cowboys out there i just wanted a bit of an idea what the problem might be. I will get someone out now, thanks for your help.

Hi guys, thanks again for your advice, and am happy to say its fixed. It turned out to be the motor on the diverter valve had packed in. thanks Dave.
